Minister for Social Development visits Millburn Close

The residents and staff at Millburn Close were delighted to receive a visit from the Minister for Social Development, Nelson McCauseland, on Thursday 8th December 2011. The Minister visited the homes of several residents to speak directly with them about their experiences of living at Millburn Close.

He was then delighted to be asked to unveil the fantastic mosaic recently made by the residents, which conveys their feelings about their journey to recovery. One of the residents recited a poem that he had written about the mosaic and what it meant to all of them.

Peter McBride was particularly pleased that the Minister had an opportunity to visit Milburn Close and saw it as a model that could be replicated in helping individuals to resettle in the community after a period of stay in hospital. We look forward to future opportunities in working collaboratively with the Minister and his department.
